I was looking around some of the free MySpace graphics sites looking for some new pieces for my page and stumbled upon this

which of course I snagged. I wanted it here for this post and for ‘my space’. It’s apt. It’s fitting. And it does make a point. A very good one. Giving up is simply not the same as giving in.

Some bad news. On Thursday coming home, Preston managed to total my car. He wasn’t badly hurt (just a bit mentally and physically shaken up; he’s healing) but the car, she won’t be a-runnin’ again…The hood got crumpled running up the rear end of a quickly stopping SUV. In the crumple, it broke a headlight, snapped the battery in two (getting acid everywhere), broke the fuse box off and probably contacted the engine. Still far more damage than the car’s current value…damn it…

Yes, and because I wasn’t carrying collision insurance, just comprehensive, the only thing State Farm is covering on my car is the tow and the impound. It does, however, completely cover SUV dude, which is a plus.

But this does mean that we’re without a car for the foreseeable future.
