mari has a wall issue

My kitchen here is a galley – and there are no windows. So above the kitchen sink I have nothing. Well, the kitchen clock. But. There’s nothing. I have a blank wall. :goes to measure it: It’s 42″x22″ (down to the top of my little “over the sink shelf”) so about the size of a good sized kitchen window.

HALP!

This blank wall is absolutely killing me. I need to put something there but haven’t a clue what. Well, one thing that will be going there is my kitchen witch x-stitch Sandhi made. Unless I find someplace else for it – maybe behind the stove – because of what it says (which is hilarious, imho).

But any ideas? What would you do with that blank space? Remember this is a rental apartment, so I can’t paint or permanently alter any walls.

My mother in law had a bathroom with no windows, and she wanted one, but because of the construction of the house, was not able to have one installed.

She bought a window with no frame (the window did have divided panes, which made it look more window like and less like a picture frame) and had a painted outdoor scene mounted behind it, and then hung it on the wall.

You could probably do something similar in the space.

    Hmm . . . a painting, or family photos?

Or how about one of those cat clocks? :P

Those are so fun! I'd need one in calico, though. :D What I did was hang two small stained glass pieces there over the electrical outlet. And Sandhi is sending me a much larger piece to hang in the large spot. I'll move the clock that's there to the space over the stove.

Check out Wallies–they're wallpaper murals and designs that are removable! There's a ton of stuff on clearance, so it wouldn't cost a fortune.
