i avoid prepositions

I was sitting here wrangling a sentence into complacency when I remembered a conversation (can’t remember about what) on Shocklines wherein someone said, “I avoid prepositions,” whenever he’s writing for publication. Huh? It struck me when the person said it as a “Quoi?” moment, and has done so again just now. Of course I can’t remember who said, either, so don’t ask. But yeah. Just how would one go about writing without ever employing prepositions? Maybe the dude was just being facetious, but…
