Visiting the Monk ~0)

…When I parked my truck at the bottom of the hill, looked upon the lengthy bit of uphill sidewalk I was going have to trek over to reach her apartment, something occurred to me.

Visiting Mari Adkins is akin to the hike up one of those Tibetan monasteries. It’s tough getting there, but once there, you’re sure to learn something about yourself.

Like I said, I’d parked the truck. I grab the manila envelop stuffed full of Apex #11, and wrapped my stubby fingers around the handles of three mugs. I got my door open and knuckled it locked.

Author: Mari Adkins

Appalachian gothic fiction writer - my works reflect a love of literature flavored by the darkness and magic residing in these ancient mountains. In my spare time, I'm a Simmer, I tumbl, I journal, but I always have a very strange sense of humor. I have lived away from the mountains and lived deep in the mountains. I currently live in Central Kentucky with my lifepartner and his cat. The mountains, their culture, their superstitions, their particular magics, will always be in my blood.
