tropical depression: hermine

This is all that’s left of Hermine. It’s been dark and dismal here all day today. I’m not sure the temperature got above 75*. I had my windows and patio door open for a time – until the humidity got too much and I had to shut them all back again – but the fresh air was nice. There’s a cold front coming down from Canada that’s supposed to be here later on. We’re supposed to get severe storms from it all day off and on tomorrow. Looks like it’s supposed to be clear between 7am and noon – that’s when I’ll go get my laundry done.

Author: Mari Adkins

Appalachian gothic fiction writer - my works reflect a love of literature flavored by the darkness and magic residing in these ancient mountains. In my spare time, I'm a Simmer, I tumbl, I journal, but I always have a very strange sense of humor. I have lived away from the mountains and lived deep in the mountains. I currently live in Central Kentucky with my lifepartner and his cat. The mountains, their culture, their superstitions, their particular magics, will always be in my blood.
