such a close family

Last night around 10pm, I got an e-mail from a cousin I’ve not heard from in pushing eleven years. She sent it via the contact form here at MMG. Just to let me know that I had misspelled “portfolio” in the header. It’s basically the same navmenu I’ve used for the last five or six years. Who knows how long that word had been up there wrong.

I sent a text message to her sister just for kicks to tell her. She texted back saying that she’d called her sister to wish her a happy birthday only to get the “this number has been disconnected” recording.

I turned around to Preston and said, “I have such a close, loving family.” I thought he was going to choke.

Appalachian gothic fiction writer - my works reflect a love of literature flavored by the darkness and magic residing in these ancient mountains. In my spare time, I'm a Simmer, I tumbl, I journal, but I always have a very strange sense of humor. I have lived away from the mountains and lived deep in the mountains. I currently live in Central Kentucky with my lifepartner and his cat. The mountains, their culture, their superstitions, their particular magics, will always be in my blood.
